“Carbon Challenge” adds the ‘performance dimension’ to the CO2 reduction discussion in global business - and showcases it through participation in top-level sport

Carbon Challenge is an innovation in both sports and business mentoring: a completely new concept that merges sporting ambition, environmental responsibility and management training to demonstrate leadership in CO2 reduction to businesses.

Reversing global warming need not be at the cost of growth and progress: By employing technology, intelligence and innovation, one can reduce and manage CO2 emissions and still achieve a high level of performance in both a sporting and business sense.

Its specific objective is to help the corporate world acquire and demonstrate competence in efficiently managing the business challenges posed by the need to reduce carbon emissions. By using systems to manage carbon reduction and sharing experiences across industries, businesses embrace sustainability in their operations and discover routes for progress through carbon reduction.

The specific target group is the leaders of the corporate world. Getting them and their companies engaged in carbon reduction will maximise the impact of a carbon reduction message, given the size of these businesses and their ability to exert influence over the rest of the corporate community and global society.
To reach this target group, Carbon Challenge has two specific platforms, which act in unison:

- A high performance sailing team participating in the world’s most renowned races.

- A 2,400 sqm zero-net-energy boathouse showcasing energy efficient building and providing a carbon neutral environment for conferencing, management training and hospitality and expositions.

Carbon Challenge will attract and dignify the attention of the Business Leaders by walking its talk: The aim of the Carbon Challenge sailing team will be to show that substantial carbon reduction and high performance can be combined.

The specific services provided to corporate clients will be delivered by Carbon Challenge Academy. Based on a close cooperation with some of the best universities and business schools, Carbon Challenge Academy will offer short term training focused on top leaders and managers, as well as a Master’s degree in Sustainable Business Administration (MSBA).
